On February 1, 2022, a Final Investment Decision (FID) relating to the oil project in Uganda was made between oil companies of TotalEnergies EP Uganda, CNOOC International and the governments of Uganda and Tanzania.
As is usually the case, the elites in the oil and gas sector are using the term FID as an ordinary term (word!) when speaking to ordinary persons in the oil and pipeline communities. So we set out to ask ordinary persons what FID means. Lessons learned: We need to think about our audiences whenever we are engaging with them.
