Religious Leaders and Oil

Natural resources governance has never been as critical as it is today in a world where population growth and human needs are in direct competition, thus causing resource-based conflicts. Therefore, there is need for equitable policies and legislations to govern access and user rights to natural resources for the common good.

In a bid to improve on citizens’ participation in shaping Uganda’s oil and gas sector, GRA identified Religious institutions and leadership as indispensable stewards of these God given natural resources. Working with Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU), GRA ensures that Religious Leaders, Faith communities and community leaders contribute to inclusive and sustainable exploitation of mineral and Oil and Gas resources to benefit all Ugandans.
